College Campus Study

Eligibility

Students must be in good standing, with room in their schedule to accommodate requests. Conversations start with the student's alpha counselor. 

Attendance Requirement

• To verify attendance requirements for the State of Kansas, students must keep a log of classroom attendance until October 4. Please return signed attendance forms (attached to the agreement) to the student's academic counselor.

     Considerations

• Students may not have more than three hours off of their schedule for College Campus Study without approval. The three hours off would include travel time.

• Credits can only be transferred back to SMSD as elective credit—and only if the agreement is in place before the student takes the course. Please keep this in mind when students enroll in summer classes and hope to apply the credit toward high school graduation.

• Transfer credit equivalents:

  • • 1 college credit = 0.25 high school credit

    • 2 college credits = 0.25 high school credit

    • 3 college credits = 0.5 high school credit (one semester class)

    • 4 college credits = 0.75 high school credit

    • 5 college credit = 1.0 high school credit
