2026 Virtual Health Care Career Day

The Kansas Virtual Health Care Career Day takes students inside Kansas hospitals to learn about the many career opportunities available in health care and engage them in real world learning. Various health care providers will deliver insights into career fields including radiology/imaging, pediatrics, laboratory, advanced practice providers, social services, dietary, EMT/paramedicine and orthopedics and sports medicine.  

All education levels and members of the public are invited to join this free event on February 18, 2026, from 9:00 am-12:30 pm.

Dimensional Innovations Summer Fabrication Internship

This internship program gives students hands-on experience in fabrication, production, and working within a professional shop environment, all while learning from experienced makers and builders. This paid internship would be excellent for students in Construction & Design, Engineering, Manufacturing or related programs. Applications are due on December 31, 2025.

November

KC Bizfest Scholarship Program

Students who are interested in business and leadership are invited to apply for KC Bizfest. KC BizFest is a four-day intensive training event that focuses on helping students: (a) turn hobbies and skills into profit-making ventures, (b) establish entrepreneurial and leadership goals, (c) create plans for business and life, and (d) become effective leaders and team players.

This program will be held February 25-28, 2026 at Kansas City, Kansas Community College. Applications for the program close on December 14, 2025. To learn more about the program and to apply to participate, go here

Participants will have the opportunity to earn scholarships to these participating universities: Johnson County Community College, Kansas City Kansas Community College, Metropolitan Community College, Donnelly College, University of St. Mary, Kansas State University, University of Kansas, and University of Missouri Kansas City. 


University of Kansas Pre-Health Day

Students who are interested in a career in health care are invited to attend the University of Kansas Pre-Health day on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM located at:

Students will connect with faculty and participate in hands-on activities designed to give a greater understanding of the many health care program options offered at the University of Kansas.

Overland Park Police Explorers

The Overland Park Polic Explorer Program offers students, ages 14-20 an opportunity to learn 

about police work and community service. It is designed for students who are serious about

exploring a future in policing. Students must not have a felony arrest or a misdemeanor arrest

within the last year or be on diversion, probation or have had a suspended driver's license.

Youth Law Symposium

The Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City is excited to invite high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in law to attend our Annual Youth Symposium on Saturday, November 8th, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at UMKC School of Law .

Hollis and Miller Spring Internships

Students interested in architecture or interior design as a potential career are invited to apply for a Second Semester Internship with Hollis+Miller. An application can be found here. All applications are due November 7, 2025. Late applications can't be accepted. Applicants will be chosen by Thanksgiving Break and the internship would start in January.

HMA is now accepting applications for their Fall 2025 High School Internship Program in their Kansas City studio! This is a unique opportunity for students interested in architecture, design, or related fields to gain real-world experience. The internship will include exposure to design tools (like Revit), team collaboration, and the professional workplace.

SnapIT Tech Pre-Apprenticeship Summer Program Registration DUE ASAP
SnapIT is offering a free, 7-week virtual tech program (May 28–July 11, 2025) for students ages 16–24 in Kansas school districts. Participants choose from three tracks—IT Support, Cloud Engineering, or Software Development—and earn a $500 stipend and a Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate upon completion. This “learn and earn” opportunity builds industry-recognized skills and prepares students for tech careers or further education. Seats are limited and awarded first come, first served to students who complete registration.

Summer Biotechnology Program at KU Edwards Campus Registration Due ASAP (Limited space!)
Interested in science and lab work? Are you at least 16 years old? The University of Kansas’ Edwards Campus is offering a two-week Summer Biotechnology Program from June 16–27, running Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Students will learn to think like scientists and develop hands-on lab skills in areas such as spectrophotometry, TLC, microbiology, immunology, and molecular techniques—all while solving real-world problems and working independently.


JE Dunn Construction Exploration 1-Week Internship Application Due ASAP (Limited space!)

The JE Dunn Construction Exploration Summer Internship offers a one-week paid internship opportunity for high school students.  The primary aim is to engage with students from school districts across the KC Metro and provide them with valuable work experience and insights into the construction industry. The JE Dunn Construction Exploration Summer Internship participants will receive classroom instruction, and hands-on experience, develop relationships, and leave with a deeper understanding of JE Dunn Construction. In addition, they’ll be introduced to many of JE Dunn’s business functions.
