ProX Summer Internship (Any Career Pathway!) - Application Due March 15

Looking for a summer opportunity to gain real-world experience and build your professional skills? The ProX Summer Internship is here to connect high school students with local businesses and organizations for hands-on, meaningful internships. This program is designed to provide practical learning experiences, mentorship, and a chance to explore potential career paths.

Compensation: $1250 stipend + 1.0 HS Elective Credit + MVA designation on transcript
Program Dates: Starts June 2 (lasts for 5 weeks, 26 hours/week)
Who Can Apply: Current 9-12 Graders (ask about transportation if needed)

Aviation Career Night at KC STEM Alliance Registration March 5

• Come join us for a career panel with aviation professionals to learn more about different career paths and how to pursue a career in aviation. We will be joining our partners, the KC STEM Alliance, to host this event. Parents and high school students are welcome to attend, grab some food and enjoy an evening connecting with us.

Garmin Women of Aviation Week: High School Hangar Days March 4 and 6

• March 4 and March 6, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

High school students are invited to the Garmin hangar for free flights in a Garmin plane, flight simulation fun and tours of the hangar. Please feel free to explore signing up on your own; there will not be a formal field trip from SMNW.

  1. highlight their personal path to medical school, including why they chose the KU School of Medicine; 

  2. provide guidance to future medical school applicants; and 

  3. highlight premedical and early assurance programs available.

JE Dunn Construction Exploration 1-Week Internship Application DUE ASAP (Limited space!)

The JE Dunn Construction Exploration Summer Internship offers a one-week paid internship opportunity for high school students.  The primary aim is to engage with students from school districts across the KC Metro and provide them with valuable work experience and insights into the construction industry. The JE Dunn Construction Exploration Summer Internship participants will receive classroom instruction, and hands-on experience, develop relationships, and leave with a deeper understanding of JE Dunn Construction. In addition, they’ll be introduced to many of JE Dunn’s business functions.

FBI Academy Camp Application Due March 31st  Flyer

The 2025 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Kansas City Teen Academy application is now open for students to apply. This is a three-day immersive experience into the daily life at the FBI. Students who are rising juniors or seniors in the 2025-2026 school year (current sophomores or juniors in the 2024-2025 school year) may apply. The application includes a request for extra-curricular activities and an essay.

JE Dunn Construction Exploration Internship -- Application

This one-week summer internship offers rising juniors and seniors hands-on experience in the construction industry. Interns will explore JE Dunn’s business functions, tour job sites, engage in hands-on activities, and network with professionals. The program includes a final presentation on industry insights, career paths, and challenges in construction.
