When picking a pair of indoor shoes please consider shoes that support safety and independence. Velcro shoes are the best choice. All students will need a pair of indoor shoes to be left at school. Students should be able to put on and take off shoes independently.
These are samples of shoes that do not support safety and independence. They may cause trip and falls. Shoes that are NOT suitable for school: dress shoes, slippers, Crocs, fashion boots, high tops, zippered shoes, lace-ups. Students should be able to put on and take off shoes independently.
If you would like clothing and containers returned, label everything and we mean EVERYTHING!!! Please label all your child’s belongings. This is extremely important, as Kindergarten children frequently have the same style boots, mittens, backpack, lunch containers, etc.
Place extra set of clothing (top, bottoms, underwear, socks) in a ziploc with your child’s name clearly showing. This is kept at school. Clothing should be comfortable and easy to manipulate in the bathroom. Your child will encounter sand, paint, glue, food and other various classroom supplies throughout the day. Play clothes are best for school attire.
We do not wear uniforms at our school.
This is a picture of a backpack that is appropriate for school. Backpacks should be able to hold a lunch bag, water bottle and a portfolio sized folder for artwork, notes and a duotang. A simple zippered bag is best as children may have difficulty with snaps, ties and buckles.

Umbrellas are not necessary at school. If it is raining hard, students will be kept inside.
Umbrellas tend to turn into hurting tools.
The weather in Canada changes very fast. We go outside 3-5 times a day and up to 85 minutes a day. Please send in all appropriate and functioning clothing in order for your child to have an enjoyable time outside.
Labeling all items that come from home ensure that those items return home. Please label EVERYTHING!
