Iceland - December 2019

Mobility in Iceland!

Our first project meeting was held in Smáraskóli, Kópavogur, Iceland 2. - 6. December 2019. Participants came from 6 schools to take part in the Erasmus+ Project „Educational Garden of Eden: Exploring Innovation Methodologies in Schools“ with the project number:

These were Kamila Verfelova, Michaela Znaminkova and Pavel Znaminko from Stredni zemedelska skola a Stredni odborna skola Podebrady, Czech Republic.

Hilal Tunç Toptaş, Süheyla Odabaşı Genç og Mustafa Enes Tepe from Büyük Kalecik Imam Hatip Ortaokulu school in Afyon í Turkey,

Seçil Tokatlı and Emine Yilamaz from Mehmetiçik Anadolu lisesi school in Corum í Turkey,

Roswitha Schranzhofer and Maria Gschwentner from Landw. Landeslehranstalt Rotholz school in Austria

Eugenia Funes and Alejandro Garcia from Instituto de Educación Secundaria Playa San Juan in Malaga, Spain

Hrefna Björg Óskarsdóttir, Ragna Óladóttir and Telma Ýr Birgisdóttir from Smáraskóli, Kópavogur, Iceland.

The meeting didn´t involve any students. Our guest stayed at the First hotel Kópavogur, it´s located in walking distance from Smáraskóli.

1st day

• Celebration at school. We are celebrating 1. december because in 1918 Icelanders got sovereignty from Denmark. Parents come and celebrate with us and all over the school we have on display the story of our nation.

• School principals welcoming our guests.

• First meeting. Everybody introduce themselves and their school, town and country.

2nd day

• Þórhildur Helga Þorleifsdóttir from the School departments gives á lecture about team teaching.

• Each partner teaches one lesson introducing his school, town and country, It would be nice to prepare a lesson for different age groups so all of the students in Smáraskóli can learn about different cultures.

• Project meeting.

• A tour around the sports facilities Smárinn and Fífan and nearby surroundings, that we use for teaching sports and a trip to the swimming pool.

3rd day

• Lecture about the fact that Kópavogur, gives all their students in 5th. – 10th grade an I-pad. Sigurður Haukur Gíslason from the IT department.

• Adventure trip around Reykjanes penensula.

• Lunch in Grindavík

• Blue Lagoon

4th day

• Project meeting

• Sight seeing in Reykjavík. A walking tour with teachers.

5th day

• Project meeting

• A farwell dinner and drinks at a teachers home.
