Solfege SingAlongs
Goal: To share about our musical identities through student-chosen songs, and practice using solfege (the musical "alphabet") by singing hooks from these songs.
Steps in the process:
Every student chooses a song that is meaningful to them
A student's song is randomly chosen. Students can sing or drum along
Sr. Davis helps the class find and translate a "hook" from that song into solfege
The student whose song it was comes up and "jumps" the solfege on carpet squares
