Using objects from around your house and your camera on your phone, make a stop motion animation!
find objects in your house that you think are interesting!
think of a quick story with those objects: is it transforming, melting, fighting, etc.
take photos of the objects using the camera on your phone - it's probably best to put your camera in one spot (balanced safely on something) and take all of the pictures from that one place
your animation should be between 2 to 5 seconds long
pull your files into a free movie making app like iMovie for iPhone, or CapCut for Android Devices and follow a tutorial for movie making.
I'll collect the finished animation from you on Tuesday, January 27th!

Use all of the principles of animation that you've learned so far when you're creating your stop motion movie!
Using things you find around your house, or stuff that you brought home from school, create a small junk sculpture of either an Animal or a Robot.
Use bottle caps, toilet paper rolls, beads - whatever you can find!
Hold it together with tape, aluminum foil, rubber bands - whatever you can find!
Be creative and have fun with it!
Take a picture of your sculpture and email it to me at: ewhyte@slcsd.org or bring it into school on our next day back.
Using supplies from class, create 2 keychains that are a part of a set - one for you, one for a friend! The subject matter you choose is entirely up to you, but they should look like they go together - have fun and be creative!
You will bake your clay pieces at home after you insert the metal attachment rings. To bake the clay follow these directions:
preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit
place your keychains WITH the ring attachment already added onto a baking try lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper
once the oven is heated up, bake your keychains in the oven for 10 minutes
take them out of the oven and allow them to cool on the tray - without moving or touching them for 10 minutes
once cooled you can paint them with acrylic paint if you want, or wait until we return to paint them
bring them in to school to turn them in and for a finishing clear coat to protect the paint
Watch the videos on Forced Perspective. Using the camera on your phone, take a picture of someone or something that demonstrates the concept of forced perspective.
Watch the video on stop motion animation. Take notes as you watch on the role of an animator in a stop motion production. Be ready to discuss this in class.
