A concept is an abstract idea. Artists use different concepts to take those ideas from abstraction to reality. The concept being explored through the lens of the Studio Habits - Observe and Reflect is Reflection.
Reflection lies in an artist's ability to seriously think and talk about the in-process and finished artworks that are created. Reflection also applies to the ability to analyze the process of creation. Artists constantly, and willingly reflect on their work and the work of their peers, fully knowing that honesty, through reflection, is the only way in which growth can occur. Artistic reflection occurs through formal and informal critiques, analysis, and looking inward at one's own strengths and weaknesses.
How does the concept of Reflection fit into animation?

Being Explored in this Project:
Staging in animation refers to a number of different things. Staging can refer to the acting or actions being shown, the timing of the movements, the camera angle and position, and the setting.
Straight Ahead and Pose to Pose in animation refers to animating in two different ways according to the specific needs of the scene. One way is to go straight ahead - or simply frame to frame in sequence. Another way is to create a key frame or pose that shows a major action and then another pose that shows a distinct change in the action. In-betweens are then added later to smooth out the motion between the posed key frames.
Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day
Paperman
Create an animation that shows a leaf (or another light object) falling from a distinct height. The motion of the leaf should be planned out and executed using a "key frame" or pose to pose method with special attention being paid to the staging or setting on which the animation takes place.
