📰 Trinity Times Issue 10 : A Lovely Lookback 📰
Well would you believe it, Trinity Times is due to launch its 10th issue! I mean where has the time gone? Let’s have a lovely lookback through some highlights, special moments and stories we have covered throughout our 10 amazing issues.
Issue 1 - Dec 23
Yes you guessed it, we are taking a step straight back to the beginning when Trinity Times first launched. I believe there were below 10 members at the time, along with Miss McMonagle and Mr Shearer carrying us along the way. Our total number of articles written were 25 across only 7 categories with highlights including:
Issue 5 - Dec 24
Skip on a year later and how times have changed! We now have added 3 extra categories; Pupil Interest, Games and Creative Writing. Also after spreading the news at the S1 Extra Curricular Fayre, we had many more budding young journalists read you to write for us. Highlighted articles include:
Issue 9 - Dec 25
Fast forward to now… it is certainly a busy room in the newspaper club at lunchtime! We love that more and more pupils are excited about writing for their school newspaper, whilst being able to share their interest, thoughts and opinions too. Our latest Issue 9 came to an outstanding total of 34 ARTICLES! Many highlights include:
Marshmallow Snowmen Recipe ☃️
Highlights - 10 Issues
Over 10 issues, it is VERY difficult to narrow it down to just a few special articles. All of the articles are special in their own way, and no matter how big or small, every single one of them matters. Although, a few extra-special treats include:
Caera Neeson (me) and Arinade Adediran were fortunate enough to meet and talk to the one and only Mrs Craig. We conducted an interview asking how Mrs Craig feels about retirement and about Trinity as a whole. Some key questions included; What is your best memory, How do you feel about retiring and What is your advice for achieving success?
I personally think this is such a fun article idea! I mean what’s not to love when you get that nostalgic feeling remembering your childhood memories. It is proven that childhood tv shows can help you bond through the generations, and can even have a successful impact on your growth and development as you get older.
Mrs McCardle has been a part of the Trinity family for a long time going from the maths department to deputy head, and is now our very own headteacher. I think I speak for pupils and staff when I say we were all delighted to hear Mrs McCardle was stepping into the new role, especially after Mrs Craig was so fantastic, and so throughout this interview pupils found out more of how Mrs McCardle was feeling about her new role.
This article screams fun and entertainment! Our very own teachers put on fantastic costumes across all the departments every year, all dressing up as a famous World Book Day character. However, it is always a massive thanks to the English department as they all make such a great effort by putting on the annual writing competition, organising activities for all year groups, and working together with other departments to make the day a little different for Trinity.
Thank you to all pupils who have contributed to Trinity Times over these 10 excellent issues. Also a huge thank you to Miss McMonagle, without you none of this could have been possible. Trinity Times is a chance to escape the real world and indulge yourself in stories, making them your own - if you are interested in joining up, speak to Miss McMonagle (English Dept) or we meet every Tuesday lunchtime B205.

One: Go to the School Show Reveal
The school show reveal normally happens on a Friday at lunch, where they will tell you the show, the main cast. This is also where you get the Google Classroom code, which will give you all the audition scripts
Two: Practice Your Lines at Home or at School
Practicing your lines are crucial and can determine if you get a main character or not. To practice you can:
- Say your lines to caretakers
- Say them to pillows
- Say them in the mirror
- Practice movements
- Watch the play or movie
Three: Practice Your Song(s)
Your songs depend on what show you are doing:
For panto audition you can choose your song.
For the summer school show: songs are chosen from the play or musical.
For the panto, it's good to either pick a song in your vocal range or to show off your volume, these will show the teachers how passionate you are about the panot.
Four; Audition Night
Audition night is the night to show your skills off. If you are nervous, don't worry, everyone is. Remember as well, the teachers are here to help you, if you mess up a line, say it again. Don't worry if it isn't the most perfect performance, as long as they can see you really care about the role and you put in effort, that's the main thing.
Five: After Auditions
After auditions (in the next week or maybe later) they will choose everyone's roles. Also remember - if you audition, you will get a part. When they choose, they put sheets with the roles and who got them through the music and drama department.
Six: Look for Who You Got
The last thing you need to do is just see who you got, then that's it! ENJOY THE SHOW!! :D
