In this article, Arinade reflects on a school trip to a youth rally, hosted by Aid to the Church in Need.
The ACN (Aid to the Church in Need) Youth Rally was an amazing event that taught the young people about persecuted Christians. The event was filled with dancing, singing, praying and so much more.
A bit about ACN
ACN is a Catholic charity bringing spiritual and practical help to Catholics and other Christians where they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need through prayer, information and action.
ACN Youth Rally was an inspiring event where I got to learn about persecuted Christians and how to help them. Each day 6 people die because of their faith but there are different ways we can help them like wearing red on Red Wednesday (coming soon!) and donating money which helps persecuted Christians around the world. I am so grateful I got a chance to go, see and learn about ACN.

The Senior Awards Ceremony is always a fantastic night celebrating the incredible success of our pupils in their SQA exams, as well as achievements in sport and work experience to name a few. This year was no different with pupils awarded from last year's S4-S6.
It was lovely seeing some returning pupils who are now onto their next journeys at university, college, apprenticeships and full time employment.
The guest speaker was Jason Kirk, a former Trinity pupil, who reflected on his time at Trinity High School. His speech was one of humility, recognising mistakes he made and ways he should have acted differently. He expressed gratitude to his former teachers, even offering an apology to Mrs Webster (who he knew as Miss McCann), recognising that she always had his best interests at heart. He offered inspiring advice to the award recipients and shared his current successes.
There were a range of awards, too many to name in one article, with many pupils receiving awards of achievement and attainment for their Nat 4, Nat 5, Higher or Advanced Higher qualifications. In addition, pupils were awarded for their success in the Barista course and others for their volunteer work earning them the Saltire Award.
The Intermediate Dux was awarded to Nell Gray and Katie Gaffney for their SQA exams in S4, as well as awards for academic excellence for Amber Cooper, Lucas Craw and Emma Mearns for their exams in S5. Monica Hand won the Alexandra Stark Award and was lucky to be handed the award by her mum (also known to us as Mrs Hand!) who could not have been prouder.
It was a fabulous night with a brilliant turnout from pupils and their families and another amazing opportunity to celebrate our Trinity superstars!
