In this article, Emilia explores all the fabulous preparations music and drama have engaged in prep for the panto!
Oh no it isn’t….oh yes it is!
It's the most wonderful time of the year and this year Trinity presents Robin Hood. With rehearsals well under way for the big performance on the 17th December, it's sure to be a great show for all the family. There will be singing, dancing and lots of fun in this amazingly cast pantomime!
“It's great seeing the show come together, seeing the actors learning their lines and their characters. At this time of year I enjoy seeing my classroom turn into a fairytale land as we make the sets and props!” said Mr Baddon of the Performing Arts faculty.
“It's great to have everyone come together and create a massive show that we can cherish together. I love getting to know the cast and meeting new people while going to rehearsals, sharing laughs and the experience with everyone. I can't wait to create a pantomime experience so come see, it will be great!” said Mya Miller who is playing the part of Duke McSnoot.
I was absolutely delighted to secure a small part in my first show at Trinity and can’t wait for the big night.
This is only part two of the school show “Christmas Harmony”, where in the first half our wonderful school choir will be singing to put you in the festive spirit! A show not to be missed.
Tickets are on sale now on parent pay and in the music department.

On Thursday 28th November to kick off Trinity's Christmas celebrations, Trinity High School hosted its renowned Christmas Fayre - an annual show stopper event. Once the bell rang at half three, many elves worked to turn our street area into a Christmas market! Staff and pupils alike set up tables and stalls, decorating the area and ensuring everything was perfect when members of our school community arrived at 6pm.
The Christmas Fayre is a fabulous opportunity to get in the holiday spirit. Ms Lynch (DHT) told Trinity Times all about her enjoyment stating, "the fayre is great! Lots of lovely stalls and gift ideas. It's made me feel very festive!"
The Trinity Times had its own stall, organised by journalists Arinade Adedirian and Caera Neeson of S2, supported by Miss McMonagle. Those who visited the stall were invited to take a business card, spin the wheel of Trinity Times to see our previous articles or to take props to get a photo to be used on the Trinity Times!
However, the Trinity Times stall was only one of the many stalls representing the school. There was the Scholastic Book Fair, organised kindly by our librarian Mrs Smith, where you could buy books and stationery that would make lovely Christmas gifts. There was a candyfloss machine and chocolate fountain for any sweet tooths and the Trinity Roasters were selling their well loved coffee. The art department were selling high quality crafted earrings and the technical department showed off their high quality wooden gonks, reindeer, lanterns and personalised cutting boards. Finally the nurture stall sold excellent hot chocolates and reindeer dust made by pupils. There were also vendors from outside the school, selling perfect holiday gifts such as crocheted items. The crocheted items were clearly a popular attraction with Caera Neeson (S2) saying "she could have spent all night there!" and Ava Murphy (S2) saying "I loved the crochet stall - it's my favourite!".
The stalls were not the only attraction, however. Trinity had its very own Santa and elf wandering the fayre, spreading joy to all. There was also fabulous carol singing from Trinity pupils, perfect for getting us in the mood for Christmas. There was also a "Guess the Sweets in the Jar" challenge and Zak Millsop of S5 won by guessing 177! Furthermore, Mrs Simpson organised a preloved uniform drive.
One of the highlights of the night were the fabulous raffle prizes. Members of our school community had the opportunity to win a £500 amazon gift voucher, a trip to Top Golf, some wonderful hampers and loads more! Well done to all of our prize winners.
An event as wonderful as this could not have happened without the pupils and staff who stayed late after school to set this up and clear it away, as well as those who helped lead stalls. An event like this also involves a huge amount of planning and preparation, so a huge thank you goes to Ms Kilgour and Mrs McArdle for making this happen.
Excited for what the Christmas fayre will bring next year!
