Hub resources to support Employability Provision
A selection of resources that are particularly relevant for employability provision. These can all be found on Skills Builder Hub.
Skills-based CV Guide
This guide helps learners identify their own essential skill strengths and provides a structure for learners to articulate these effectively in the format of a skills-based CV.
Reflective Log
This interactive reflective log supports learners who are working on a project or taking part in work experience. It allows learners to evaluate their essential skills, set skill goals, reflect on their skill development and plan their next steps.
Workbooks
There is one skill workbook for each skill. This is to support learners to drive their development of the skills more independently. They will reflect on their skillset and record/evidence when they have demonstrated skill steps with space for facilitators to sign off progress.
Workshops
There is one skill workshop for each skill. This is to be delivered to learners and will give them a solid understanding of each skill and why it is important in different contexts (at college, at university, in the world of work). It focuses on Steps 0-10.
Short Lessons
10-20 minute presentations that teach learners the specifics of a skill step, then provide an activity for them to apply what they have learnt and reflect on how it went. There are 2-3 short lessons for each skill step.

Skill Passports
Skill passports support learners to record and track when they have demonstrated the steps of each skill.
Skill Records
Skill records support learners to articulate their understanding of specific skill steps and related concepts (reflection questions to answer for each skill step).
Choose a record for Steps 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 or 13-15.
Simple, 2-page printable document.
Skill Icons
Picture files of the eight essential skill icons that you can drop into your own resources. You can find the individual skill icons, all skill icons in a grid, all skill icons in a line, as well as versions including 'Communication' instead of 'Speaking' for an inclusive approach.
Skill Posters (icon and framework posters)
Skill icon posters: 8 colourful posters, displaying the essential skills icons.
