Although hybrid work has some unique challenges, Google Workspace has been focused on empowering anywhere, anytime collaboration for well over a decade.
Google is enabling a hybrid work experience that enhances collaboration, strengthens human connection, and increases wellbeing for every employee — wherever and however they work.
What are the solutions for best practice collaboration, especially navigating the future of hybrid work? There are many ways to collaborate using the tool sets available to your organisation using Google Workspace
As companies emerge from more than a year of remote work, a hybrid work model is rapidly becoming the new normal. But hybrid is about more than just where you work. Hybrid collaboration is fast-moving, fluid and spontaneous.
Let’s consider a few statements
How do people working "somewhere else" stay connected with those in the office?
How can we all better manage our time and attention?
How can technology support wellbeing so everyone can maximize their impact?
How do we attempt to make the hybrid work experience equitable for all
How do we ensure the in-office experience promotes collaboration not only in the workplace but remotely as well.
Google has been empowering anywhere, anytime collaboration for well over a decade. One click and you're connected no matter where you are.
Let’s look at a few of the innovations here.
A dedicated place for team collaboration: Spaces. Spaces are the central place for team collaboration in Workspace. Spaces are unique in that they are tightly integrated with Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and Tasks, providing a better way for people to engage in topic-based discussions, share knowledge and ideas, move projects forward and build communities and team culture.
Adding external users to a Space (non-gmail Google accounts can also join). Because all chat and attachments are preserved for future reference, members can easily jump in and contribute at a time that works best for them, seeing a full history of the conversations, context, and content along the way.
Calendar Insights - private to you - will let you assess and adjust how you are spending your time against your own priorities, and the results are only visible to you — not managers.
Hybrid work doesn’t have to be a disruptor. It can be a natural evolution of tools and approaches ensuring seamless collaboration between those in a space and those working remotely — in meetings and across all the ways that people collaborate — everyone can stay included, connected, and deliver greater impact, together.
With this handbook, you will learn how to:
Keep people productive and engaged, even when they’re away from the office
Prevent the sort of meeting fatigue that happened during the pandemic
Make the hybrid work experience equitable for all employees
Ensure the in-office experience promotes collaboration
