One of the most awaited events lined up for the celebration of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival is the Baile de Festival. Swaying with their vivid colors, the so called Street-dance Competition is said to be the most awaited event for the Zamboangueňos. With its colorful essence, no eyes is saved from captivation. The said event is open to different schools within Zamboanga City.
The Baile de Festival is usually held inside the Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Stadium; where the contestants would show their performances to which their explicit messages are enveloped. Though due to the stadium serving as an evacuation center for the victims of the siege back in 2013, the event was instead held at the Mayor Vitaliano Agan Memorial Coliseum in Tetuan in 2014.
With much eagerness in everyone’s faces, the participants give out all their efforts to impress the judges. With the loud cheering of the audience, the thrill of the event takes to the skies as the competing schools make their appearances.
One after another, the representatives of each competing schools would show the outcome of months of hardships and sacrifices; and through this, immeasurable happiness showers with every sway and movements they made. Though some see the event as means of rivalry, the true meaning of the event still finds its way through the hearts of the people.
As the event makes its way to the end, the feeling of bliss would last and would not cease; and upon all the emotions, the event would not come to its conclusion until everyone's faces have smiles printed on it.
