CONGRATULATIONS TO IAN & TANYA
Well, these really are the most weird and wonderful times we live in.
I have just heard the most amazing news ever - Ian 'Shaggy' Burgess has recently become engaged to lovely Tanya. I can only assume Ian popped the question by Text Message and Tanya accidentally hit the 'Yes' button .......though more likely, Tanya makes the most marvellous curries..........yes folks, it's all round to Ian and Tania's next Friday!! Of course, I'm only joking.
On behalf of everyone at Woodlands we send our congratulations and sincere best wishes to the newly engaged couple and hope they will be very happy together. Good luck to you both.

Lockdown Breakout
The sunshine guaranteed by club member Bev Field wasn’t forthcoming this afternoon as 14 hardy souls turned up at Mewsbrook Park for an informal social distance gathering. It was lovely to see some table tennis faces, old and new and for Val it was her first outing since lockdown begun.
Lovely idea Bev, let’s do it again soon.

Woodlands Get Together?
Below is a lovely impromptu invite for a Woodlands Get Together from Beverley Field -
Hi everybody. It looks like we might get some decent weather this week so I’d like to see if there is any interest in a socially distanced get together on Wednesday 15th.
I’ve put a message on Facebook. Please reply there.
Meet 2pm Wednesday 15th on the green in front of the cafe in Mewsbrook Park, Littlehampton. Bring a chair or blanket and your own drink. The cafe is open, but queues are long and slow.

Woodlands Table Tennis Club Golf Day
Golf Day in May Cancelled
David Parr has asked me to inform you that his 'Golf Day' on 29th May has been cancelled for obvious reasons. If you have already paid, David will arrange to reimburse you but if you are in the throes of making payment, please don't.
David will try to re-arrange the Golf Day for the Autumn, subject to how things pan out with the virus.
The eighth Woodlands Table Tennis Club Golf Day will be held at Hill Barn Golf Club on Friday, May 29th with a first tee-time of 12.00.
As previously, the format will be a Texas Scramble with teams made up of players of varying standards and experience. The format is an excellent one for those who have played very little golf. The questions on the form about golf handicaps and playing experience are there in order to help me construct balanced teams on the day. After the 18 holes of golf a farmhouse buffet meal will be served followed by coffee and then the winning team will receive prizes.
The cost for the event per player is £34. (£32 is the cost of the golf and meal and £2 will go towards the prizes). The closing date is Wednesday, April 1st, but please return attached form below as soon as possible.

Our annual Christmas get together was held on Friday evening, the 20th. Huge thanks to everyone who made it possible. It was a mixture of fun, frivolity, food, festive table tennis and some interesting Yuletide clothing.
Winner of the best dressed person went to Jim Roberts who had a certain sartorial elegance with just a hint of Christmas!!!!!!!!
