Minutes of the Wilmington Township Planning Commission
Meeting of May 24, 2011
The meeting was convened at 8:02 p.m. at the Township Building.
Members present: William Allen; Frank Antoniazzi, chair; John M. Byler; and Frederick Neikirk, secretary.
Members absent: Lynn Williams.
Visitors: Bert Gerstnecker.
1. Secretary’s Report
a. The minutes of the meeting of April 19, 2011, were read. It was moved, seconded, and carried that they be approved as presented.
2. We have received an informal communication from the Mercer County Planning Office regarding a subdivision on the property of Dan Wengerd located on Old Mercer Rd. The property spans two counties (and thus two townships). All the area being subdivided is in Wilmington Township, Mercer County. Since the residual property is in Lawrence County we were given a copy of the plan in case we had comments. It was agreed by common consent that we see no objection to the proposed subdivision.
3. Bert Gerstnecker was present in support of the preliminary plan for a land development for the Animal Medical Clinic which is located on Route 18. The proposal was first submitted on May 2, with two revisions following comments from the Township Engineer. However, the submission to the County Planning office somehow was not provided for their review. In addition we do not have required approvals from the sewer authority or PennDot. The plan is also lacking a narrative that could continue a number of other items that are missing. It was moved, seconded, and carried to accept the May 23 submission as the official filing. It was agreed by common consent to postpone further consideration of this proposal until the June meeting. It was moved, seconded, and carried ot hold a special meeting on July 5 to approve the final plan for the Animal Medical Clinic land development so long as a) the applicant bears all costs associated with that meeting; the preliminary plan is approved at our June meeting; and the complete final plan and application is filed at least two weeks prior to July 5.
There being no further business that could be accomplished at this meeting, the meeting was adjourned at 9:36 p.m.
Frederick R. Neikirk
