Firmware upgrade document attached below, Use COM3 and before you upgrade the firmware you have to disable this
Yes com3 and set the port to GNSS1. In the controller you will also have to do the following:
In the POS LV controller, under Settings | Installation | Primary GNSS Receiver | Disable Auto Configuration
Once you have loaded the FW you can enable it again.
APPLANIX/JAVAD:
Pre-flight
1) Turn on right "Applanix/LTN100" power supply in T3 rack (22V)
2) Power on Javad on back of rack by holding power button for 2 seconds
3) Turn on Applanix laptop
4) Start POS AV Software:
a) Double-click POS AV 5.0 icon in upper left
b) Should automatically find applainx at 172.16.40.110
c) Make sure Attitude, Position, and Velocity indicators to turn green (~5min)
d) 30-45 min before flight begin logging:
1) Click connect button in top middle of window
2) Logging > Ethernet Logging...
3) Set log file name: YYYYMMDD, then "POSPac", "Start Logging", "Apply", then "Ok"
4) Logging > PC Card Logging... (will also start internal logging)
5) Set log file name: YYYYMMDD, then "POSPac", "Start Logging", "Apply", then "Ok"
6) Click disconnect button in top middle of window
8) Start NMEA logging:
a) Double-click "Shortcut to applanixcom1" on desktop
b) Make sure GPGGA messages are scrolling
c) Start NMEA log file:
1) Transfer > Capture Text
2) Enter log filename: YYYYMMDDNMEA.TXT, then "Ok"
Post-flight
1) Start ftp download of internal data:
a) Make folder in C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/applanix_internal/YYYYMMDD
b) Start > Run > ftp 172.16.40.110 (anonymous/[blank])
c) Type bin to ensure binary mode of transfer
d) Type prompt to turn off the prompt for each file
e) Type "lcd applanix_internal" then "lcd YYYYMMDD"
f) Type "mget YYYYMMDD*" to start transfer (should take 10 min or so)
g) After the 15min static period, get the newly created file(s) (eg. "mget YYYYMMDD*.06?")
2) Let Applanix log for at least 15min after plane comes to rest
3) Stop logging in POS AV software:
a) Click connect button in top middle of window
b) Find the ethernet logging window and press "Stop Logging"
c) Double-click on "Shortcut to Posav" on desktop, and copy YYYYMMDD file to thumbdrive
d) In POS AV window, Logging > PC Card Logging..., then "Stop Logging"
e) If the Disk Usage bar in software indicates drive is full, transfer data off PC card
f) Click disconnect button in top middle of window (Save changes if you want)
g) Close POS AV software (Don't save message log)
4) Copy data from C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/applanix_internal/YYYYMMDD to thumbdrive
5) Power off computer
6) Power off applanix unit by holding green power button for ~3 seconds
7) Power off Javad receiver by holding power button for ~2 seconds
8) Power off right power supply in rack for APPLANIX/LTN100
Archive
1) Plug in USB flash drive (should automount as /media/labadmin/TOSHIBA/)
2) rsync -Pav /media/labadmin/TOSHIBA/[ei]* /data/raw_data_5/applanix/
3) sudo umount /media/labadmin/TOSHIBA
4) Unplug drive
