Hi John,
On Sunday, during my bike ride, I have identified a few building options
that are heated, powered, and, more importantly, that are close by open
fields.
Yesterday, I met with the chief civil engineer of the Base (Greenland
Contractor) who is in charge of absolutely all the buildings. She
strongly supports any activities related to the NASA science mission. She
authorizes us to use 2 buildings that are shown on the attached map (7001
and 1128), and offered help for the setup (vehicle to carry boxes, making
openings to pass wires through the wall).
I'm passing on this information to you, and others in the list, as there
is no guarantee that I will be part of the 2012 Greenland mission
(although I would hope so, I greatly enjoyed my time with you guys!). So,
if for any reason you need a new location for your instruments, I think
this option is a very good one. If you want to have a look, both
buildings are left unlocked. You will see that there is more than plenty
of room for instruments!
Cheers,
Joël

The number of the emergency hut is 1128 and we contacted the "non sensitive comms" office to help with locating decent locations. They are located in building 113.
We also had decent results out of building 216 with a tripod on roof but some construction kept us out of there in 2012.
