SI - Laxon Line
Thule to Fairbanks
OIB - P-3 Orion 03/14/14 Science Report
Sitrep text
IceBridge had a very successful day, transiting from Thule to Fairbanks and obtaining good sea ice remote sensing data over the entire Laxon Line data collection flight path, which is remarkable considering the length of today's flight. All IceBridge sea ice remote sensing instruments on the P3 aircraft reported good data collection, but the DMS camera system had a Applanix INS failure. Data from the ATM Applanix will be provided to process the DMS camera images from today.
Today's Laxon Line mission is again dedicated to the memory of Seymour Laxon, who was the heart of all the achievements and successes of the Centre for Polar Observation and Modeling at University College London (UCL) over the past two decades, and he is missed.
Thanks for the good weather today, Seymour!
