Hey Guys!
This week, in addition to preparing for the final presentation, Gabe has been hard at work at an additional tool to the app: a QGIS Plugin that can be used when drawing polygons!
A lot of urban planners use QGIS, and having a tool right in the program for them to calculate re-utilization potential could greatly speed up data collection. With this plugin, when someone draws a polygon, they can fill out the form that pops up, and the comments, condition, and re-utilization fields of the attribute table are automatically populated. This does all the work of the flowcharts and rubric automatically, right in QGIS.
Here's what the plugin looks like:
First, the user gets the form:
Then, the user fills in the form:
When the user opens the attribute table for the data layer, they see all the data populated automatically:
This plugin is an additional tool, that allows volunteer groups and urban planners to enter data, even without internet connection!
We have plenty of exciting news to come, so stay posted!
