During the term before the project, the team produced deliverables to aid in the final project:
1. Flow chart representing the steps we will take when analyzing each Green Space
2. Plans for best use of each Green Space
3. Sample GIS mapping of Giudecca, the island which the team will start with
4. Sample screenshot of what our mobile application will look like
1. The figure below represents a prototype of the steps we will be taking when considering the classification of each green space we analyze. The paths that we take will be determined by certain criteria that is space specific. In addition to consulting this flowchart, we will also be looking to our sponsor for land classification using their expertise. The criteria included in the chart also serves as a baseline feature set for the mobile application that we will develop next term.
2. Additionally, we have created plans for the best use of the land after the type of green space has been determined. We will identify the best plan for reutilizing the space correctly after consulting our sponsor. The figure maps out the uses that we will look into after analyzing data on the ownership, condition, and metric area.
3. Once in Venice, the team will be mapping out the entire metropolitan of the mainland using GIS mapping systems. The below figure is a prototype of the work that we will be completing in order to fill the database. This mapping was hand drawn using QGIS on the island of Giudecca.
4. Ideally, after mapping all the spaces using GIS, we will be able to use this map to create a mobile application, where the user can insert data of their own, and see information about a selected green space.
