You may have noticed that the website you're reading this on is different than last week. That's because we've re-vamped our website. It now has a green theme and a new logo for the Green Team!
On top of that, we've made big changes to our rubric. We gave our sponsors some homework which was essentially grading the lands using our rubric. This was done to see if we could mathematically calculate proper weights for attributes. The first round was a little rough, and we attribute this to the subjective nature of our first rubric. In our second round, we removed the more obvious subjective attributes and got much cleaner data! We entered the grades and breakdowns from both sponsors and did a multiple linear regression using MATLAB which produced some weights. We are pretty happy with the result, and have sent it to our sponsors and advisors. We're hoping for even more feedback to help us improve the rubric further.
The next step is to incorporate this rubric and re-grade the lands we've done to reflect the new weights. We'll also create some cool visuals to demonstrate how grades of land and categories are spread out.
