Week number two is at a close, but it honestly feels like it has been much longer (in the best way). We are all feeling much more comfortable with our sense of direction and, of course, have located the closest gelato places. Also, the acqua alta decided to pay us a visit on Halloween night, but as we live on either the third or fourth floors of our buildings we were thankfully unaffected for the most part.
We still have not begun with our data collection yet but instead have continued to focus on organizing the past data. We are just about done with that and plan to finally begin our field work starting next week. We are still waiting to see if we will get the app to help us with our data collection, but if not we are prepared to go out with tablets and take the data down that way instead, which is just as good, especially since we are only making note of which stores and accommodations have changed since past years.
Meanwhile, we took the opportunity to exercise our arms and go out in a row boat (like true Venetians), which we all enjoyed. We couldn't decide which of us mastered it the best, so we agreed that we were all on each other’s level. It really was a great time, rowing down the Grand Canal. My arms will definitely be feeling that tomorrow.
