The team assignments were posted last Wednesday and our team met for the first time right before our first ID2050 class. Our group members are Ben Bruso, an Architectural Engineering major from Houston who loves buildings, Hongling Chen, a Mechanical Engineering major coming directly from Guangzhou, Amanda Olm, a Chemical Engineering major from Brazil with a love for reading, and Iliana Schulman, a Chemical Engineering major and passionate dancer.
We dove right into the project and decided on when to meet each day of the week and started thinking about all the tasks and milestones to come. The next day we started getting familiar with our project, brainstorming our mission statement from the project description and preparing for our first PQP meeting. After the PQP meeting we all felt a little uncertain after we found out some of our assumptions were incorrect and were slightly overwhelmed with the task at hand. However, we met over the weekend and reached a few milestones like creating and designing the website and writing new mission statements based on the new insight we received from our advisors. We decided to look past the initial apprehension and focus instead on each step toward completing the project. Now we’re going full steam ahead and are excited to work on and carry out our project in Venice!
