I have now installed Ubuntu, Apache, MySQL and PHP. Plus it was incredibly easy to do. I was initially apprehensive as Linux has always been the preserve of the "Uber-Geeks!" and I'm a Microsoft trained professional. The server runs really quickly now and is extremely stable and reliable, for example I can re-boot it without any services failing unlike Windows!
I have also configured my new router in place of my Virgin media router which now solely acts as a modem. The new router took a couple of hours to configure my wireless networks and DMZ settings. Asus provide their own DDNS service which I have used to create the URL of http://userguardian.asuscomm.com/ linked to my ISP external IP number.
This screenshot shows the configuration of my Router using DDNS, and the IP of my Dell Server on my local network.
