Overview: Students will design a logo for their skateboard company by making a two colour stencil to be printed on to a tshirt.
-explore the qualities of a good logo
-use technology and clip art for brainstorming ideas (Photoshop)
-Learn how to create a stencil (two colours)
-Learn how clothing can act as a billboard or make a statement.
1. Students learn about logos and their meaning. Students look at examples of logos and what makes a good logo. Students look at simple imagery and how it sends a message.
2. Students brainstorm ideas through a mindmap and 3 rough sketches in their sketchbook.
3. Students examine tshirts and how clothing can act as a strong tool for branding and advertising. (powerpoint)
4. Students design a logo stencil on Photoshop and transfer the image to parchment paper and cut out.
5. Using fabric ink, students will paint in their stencil to complete their tshirt and heat set it.
