In the Urban Art classroom we often use cell phones as part of the art making and documenting process. However, cell phones can be a distraction to learning and art making if used for non-educational purposes. It is my hope that students can regulate their use of cell phones in the classroom themselves and that parents will help support the use of cell phones for educational purposes only.
Students are permitted to use cell phones for the following:
Listening to music while creating art
Documenting their artwork
Looking for inspirational images for projects
Researching for projects
Other applications with the teacher's consent
Students cannot:
Text, talk or access social media
Play games
