Another example on how "yarn bombing" is becoming more mainstream. In August of 2013, to celebrate Andy Warhol's birthday, 250 volunteers knitted almost 600 blankets to cover a bridge in Pittsburg making it the largest piece of yarn bombing ever in the United States. To achieve a project of this magnitude takes an emmense amount of planning and collaboration, celebrating what the arts and knitting can accomplish.
Shephard Fairey's goal was to create an image that has a meaning, and to repeat that image so often that it becomes meaningless. His "obey" campaign is a great example of this. What is more relevant to us is perhaps the image of the mustache. Originally,
