After one graduates from a reputed university and moves out into a world full of competition, one realizes that the alma mattar has given them so much. Not only the education, but the right kind of exposure to help them become confident human beings.
UMIT is one such great place. I am sure each one of the alumnae would share this feeling with me. But like every institute, there is always room for improvement.
Evidently there is a need for a better infrastructure to support the students. Atleast a paint on the building, better equipped labs to start off with. Every great university or instiutute always boasts about its infrastructure and world class facilities. So I personally feel we can do much better in that front.
In todays world, where even individuals market themselves and their work through a website, having a decent website is very important for the image of an institute. Currently UMIT website, www.umit.ac.in is in a poor state. And the management needs to updgrade it as soon as possible.
The students deserve a stable management and a supportive principal. Prof. Sanjay Pawar's appointement as the principal has brought in that stability. As a Founder chairperson of UAA, I hope that UMIT increases its interaction with the alumae and considers us as the face of the Institute in the industry.
Today, the need of the hour is, restructuring of the UMIT curriculum to match industry standards, involvement of the experienced Alumnae and a sense of belongingness for our Alma Mattar.
This can be achieved through constructive dialogues, open forums for discussions etc..
I sincerely hope that UAA gives UMIT that platform that can make a positive change..
