I am very proud to present the first career counselling newsletter, beautifully compiled by the UAA students council of 2010. Hope that the students and alumna enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed myself designing.

Individual careers are a delicate matter where students must carefully plan where they envision themselves. In order to guide and help the students visualise and actualise their plans, the career couseling newsletter to be released by the career couseling cell, would give the nuts and bolts wrt the mainstream careers like MS,MBA pursued by engineers.

Also, it would draw notice to other courses that may cater to the interests of the students looking to integrate their postgraduation with the career tht they wished to pursue as an undergraduate.

Making the correct choice of specialization for higher studies is pivotal in shaping the career of any student. Appropriate guidance at this stage is imperative.

It is with this motive that the Career Counselling Centre of the UAA has been formed, to provide students with any kind of assistance to help them zero in on their interests and realize their dreams.

Also they will be provided with material and information pertinent to their field of interest for post graduate studies.

For Post Graduate studies, information regarding university rankings, as well as rankings according to courses and field of study will be provided to students. Exhaustive lists of colleges, along with the programs and the degrees they offer for post-graduate studies will be maintained for student reference and access. Subscribed magazines that give up to date information on colleges (India and Abroad) for post graduation studies will be accessible to students through library for reference and access.

Sessions with speakers from institutes like TIME, Career Launcher, IMS and the others which tutor for Entrance Exams like CAT, GRE, GMAT etc will be arranged for better understanding of application processes, selection criteria, scholarships and financing. Sessions with the students who are currently doing a post graduation from reputed colleges will be arranged to apprise aspiring students about their experience and course of procedures to be followed.

Preparatory Notes and Mock Test Papers for various exams like GRE, GMAT, CAT, etc. will be made available in the library for student access. SOPs of ex-students will be made available for students to refer while preparing their own SOP.
