Harmony made Roy Smeck Uke

My posh Harmony

It has Mahalo nylon strings on and is tuned g~C~E~A

I knew Roy would come one day, he endorsed too many ukuleles, banjoleles, guitars, banjos, mandolins and other instruments not too.

What I have invited here is a post war Harmony Roy Smeck. It has the plastic fretboard of post war Harmonies but it is the deluxe model and suppose to be a cut above the usual with a solid mahogany body and neck.

It's arrived now and sadly there is a big bash in the side! It doesn't look like it was done in transit but the chap who sold it to me swears he didn't see it when he said it was in perfect nick but didn't show any side views. He did give me half of my buy price back though.

Anyway the Ukulele itself is definitely made from better quality wood than the standard Harmony, (the split shows this too), but to be honest it doesn't sound much better than a standard Harmony, (This might be the bash or it might be the crappy old nylon strings - I should change them and see how much of a difference this makes?)
