The BUSA Playoffs at Birmingham were abandoned at 10am on Sunday as the wind increased as forecast. Luckily, we had sailed a full round in two leagues on the Saturday, with the top two from each league going through. We then had a "just in case" mini league of the next three from the two leagues, so that we could determine the remaining three teams to go through.

Checking the BUSA site I see that the following teams qualified:-
1) SOUTHAMPTON 1
2) NOTTINGHAM 1
3) PLYMOUTH 1
4) OXFORD 2
5) BRISTOL 2
6) WARWICK 2
7) CARDIFF 1
Entry information for the finals can be downloaded from the BUSA website, and entry fees must be paid by 20th March 2009 .

Meanwhile the London Duck which is also being sailed this weekend ended in a single race final (three had been intended but then the weather intervened). The Castaways team of Tom Hebbert, Ed Males and Jim Eynon beat the Bristol Ladies team of Maria Stanley, Claire Walsh and Charlotte Savage.
