Summer and Winter Camps

Summer and Winter camp are extended camps where the scouts will be camping for 4-7 nights. They are a huge amount of fun for adults and Scouts alike. It is great to see the scouts in the outdoors with their friends and not a electronic device in sight. The scouts also learn a lot of new skills and merit badges at these camps. The troop usually goes to a different Summer camp each year but again this is dependent on the scouts and their preferences. We have camped in Colorado, Arkansas, South Texas and Oklahoma. This summer the troop went to Camp Mack Morris in Tennessee.

2023 Summer Camp

In 2023 our troop went to Camp Alexander located in the Pike-San Isabel National Forest of Colorado. The summer camp was 5-6 days, and the weather was slightly cooler compared to Texas due to the camps elevation. We ended it off with some awesome rafting along the Arkansas River!

2019 Winter Camp

The Troop went to Trevor Rees Jones for Winter Camp in December. This is a 5 day / 4 night camp and the weather was pretty good for Texas in December. Lots of merit badges were earnt and a lot of knots were taught.

2019 Summer Camp

One of the responsibilities of the PLC is to select the location for Summer Camp and this year they picked San Isabel Scout Ranch in Colorado. It was the first time the Troop had been to this camp and they were not disappointed. The weather was great and the views were spectacular,

Winter Camp 2018

In December, the Troop had a great Winter Camp at Trevor Rees Jones. The Scouts completed a number of merit badges and also fulfilled cooking requirements for First & Second Class Rank. Some intrepid scouts also got up early Saturday morning and earned their Polar Bear badge by taking a very cold and very fast dip in the lake.Â
