Jamie’s project was building a bench from two by fours on a piece of land that was full of weeds and had water run off. He filled in this area around a tree with decomposed granite and mulch. The improvements also included a barrier to prevent soil runoff right at the entrance of an arena.
This location and bench provided a place where kids participating in the Equest therapeutic horse program could sit and see the horses which were not being used at the time. The bench also gave the kids a place for a needed sensory break.Â
