Camping

As the OutBACK Troop, our Scouts are enthusiastic campers. The Troop endeavors to go camping every month and  each year we also attend Summer and Winter Camps and have one High adventure camp for the older scouts. 

We have camped as close as Cedar Park Hills and as far away as Longhorn Cavern State Park and Beavers Bend State Park. 

For summer camp we often go out of state and have been to camps in Colorado, Arkansas and Oklahoma. For summer 2026 the Troop will likely be going to Oklahoma. 

There are 4 high adventure camps run by Scouts BSA: 

Philmont Scout Ranch (New Mexico)

Northern Tier (Minnesota & Ontario)

Summit Bechtel Reserve (West Virginia)

Sea Base (Florida and the Caribbean) 

We have been to all of these in the last four years. In 2025, the Troop sent a crew to Sea Base.
