One night Nicholai frustrated me so greatly that I stormed out of the cathedral. Hot, angry tears were streaming down my face. He took Alyanna from me. She was no longer close to me, instead she was busy pleasing Nicholai with Netta. Disgusting. Both of them. No, all of them. My fingers twitched and every passing person fell victim to me. I took lives in the blink of an eye, until a gentle man took me into one of his arms. He wiped the angry tears from my face. "You are far too beautiful to be crying." He cooed. His pale blue eyes reflected nothing absolute kindness. How could that be? When I felt his energy, it was like Nicholai's, but he was not like Nicholai. "Why do you weep and lay waste to all that pass you?"
"Anger." I replied. I felt foolish, this kind man was in my presence, and all I was able to show him was smoldering aggression.
He held me close to his chest. "Let go of your anger beautiful woman, you will feel so much better."
I breathed deep and let my anger pass. "What is your name sir?" I asked.
"Damien." He said.
"My name is Nyma. It is refreshing to meet you, Damien." I looked into his eyes, they were shining brilliantly. "Damien, where do you live?"
"Many places. I have no stable home." He smiled at me. "Why do you ask?"
"Come with me." I took his hand and lead him to the cathedral, he would be mine. My rose, tender and beautiful.
When we arrived I pulled Damien inside, a blissful smile on my face. "This is your home now Damien. I will help you perfect your powers and teach you Magick."
Nicholai stormed into the room growling angily, "Did I tell you you could bring a man home?!"
"I do not need your approval! I will bring home whomever I choose! You DO NOT control me!" My smile turned into a snarl.
Netta hissed at me from behind Nicholai.
"Hiding behind your puppeteer Netta?" I spat at her.
Damien rested a supportive hand on my shoulder. "I do not wish to intrude upon you all."
"You are not intruding Damein." I looked up at him "The others will just have to learn to be civil." I clasped my hand over his. " Let me show you to your room." As I lead him past Nicholai and his pet, I glared at them.
I took Damien to the room directly beside mine. "Thank you Nyma, for taking me in." He pulled me into a tight embrace.
"It is my pleasure. Remember one thing, Nicholai does not control you, he is not your master and you do not belong to him."
Damien stroked my hair lovingly. "If I belong to anyone, I belong to you."
I smiled and said nothing, I stayed still and enjoyed his sweetness. We slept together that night and almost every night afterward, we held each other close, amongst other things. Damien was my opposite, calm and benevolent, he brought the best out in me. Damien was my rose, soft and unoffensive, the rest of us were weeds. Our malevolence snared around him, our anger stunted his ability to grow, the poor beautiful thing.
