A knight on a dark brown horse stopped next to me. "Maiden, are you well?" He asked.
I suppose the concern was because my dress was torn and my eyes were far. "Sir, may I ask something of you?"
The knight dismounted his horse and smiled warmly. "Why of course, anything for a creature lovely as you."
I laughed, it sounded more of a distant cry. "Lovely is far from what I am." I was sat on a fallen tree and motioned to the knight. "Please Sir, sit so I may tell you a story."
He sat and waited. I knew what he was waiting for, it was not a story. "Good Sir, ask no questions, do not interrupt me and at the end I will ask something of you that you cannot refuse." I avoided his eyes. "My story," I said, letting my mind wander, "begins years ago."
