After finishing this course, I’ve gained my knowledge in IS Infrastructure and Networks. This course was very valuable to my professional and academic growth. I’m working as Lab assistant but many tasks related to troubleshooting, security the computer and network system. I’m looking for the IT job available so that I can apply the job as well as apply what I’ve learned before and after finishing this class. Since working on the IT or Network Security, It will require us to have the knowledge about business data communication concepts, architectures, components, protocols and standards, and ability to deal with the risks that companies are facing. Also, we have to solve any problem right away to ensure the business continuity to avoid the cost of lost. I feel that this class have provided me with a solid foundation to keep up with Network Security in the field as the importance and necessary of security continue to grow recently.
When doing assignments and studying for the exam, I realized that there were many hand-on activities from Business Data Communications and Networking book. If I have more time, the class topic I would like to continue learning will be Security lecture. I’m really interested in the security area not only I want to prevent the bad guys from trying to break and access to my computer and network to steal my confidential information, but also I want to be a network administrator or cybersecurity in future. Also, I will practice the hand-on activities from the book to understand more on what I’ve learned through the course.
For this course, there are several learning techniques and each technique help me on different ways. For example, the videos from Professor Messer are short and broken down to many sections but they gave me clearly and enough information to understand the related concepts. Eli the Computer Guy’s videos are longer and explained useful information to help me gather information to prepare for the exam. Reading the book or the online book made me feel bored but I think I learned a lot information as well as reading the hand-on activities and applying them when I had time. If I want to get the certificate in networking or security, I prefer to the videos from Professor Messer.
