Weekly updates in TeamLava's Story games roll out starting 11AM PST Thursdays and last until Tuesday. If you do not receive them Thursday, you have to wait until Tuesday before you get them. It doesn't matter when you "usually" get them. That has no effect or guarantees you'll get them same time each week.
Weekly there is usually also a limited time item. It is random and no factors determine if you receive the offer. You CAN be offered the limited time item even if you do not have the regular weekly updates that week.

Tip: When TeamLava announces removal of "seasonal content," check out the history spreadsheets to get an idea of what might be removed.
