Before our High Priestess, there was chaos and death. Fights between the strong and hunts upon the weak. Children were killed without a chance to grow, and mothers watched as eggs they tended to for months were snatched away to be eaten while they lay helpless to defend. Before our High Priestess fell from the sky, there was only one center of balance in the forest. There was one light of sense in the dark, confusing world we lived in.
The Village of Charizards took her in when she was young and taught her how to care for others. She thrived in their village and she loved the people who raised her. As time passed, she grew displeased with how the island ran outside of the village and, with her smarts and power, she proved herself to the other dragons on the island and set down enough laws to keep the young safe while still allowing us dragons to live as we pleased. We had never considered a life like the Village of Charizards, and many of us still can't bear to imagine living in houses, settled down and out of the White Forest. We like the safety and the concern she taught us, and we like knowing that each wanted child is given a chance to succeed.
We do not compromise our natures. We have risen above disorder and found new ways to serve ourselves, our island, and our Priestess, just as she found new ways to make our lives better.
