When: March 24, 2008 from 5-9

Where: The Warehouse Theatre

What: Auditions and a Big Ol' Par-TAY!

The Distracted Globe is preparing to launch its third summer season of scripted classic comedies, and we invite everyone to be there!

March 24th, 2008, we will gather at The Warehouse Theatre.  Sure, we'll have auditions for anyone interested.  But more importantly, we'll have a party!  Muchines, drinknies, music and good conversation, if we do say so ourselves.  And we do.

The Summer 2008 Season is a battle of the sexes consisting of:

The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare

Playing June 19-28

Rehearsals begin w/o May 19

Two One-Acts:

The Bear by Anton Chekhov

Man of Destiny by George Bernard Shaw

Playing July 24-August 2

Rehearsals begin w/o June 23

This summer will also include late night improv:

Suddenly Lear June 27 & 28

Late Night Improv Classic August 1 & 2

To schedule an audition, please email us.

You'll need to have a verse (that's Shakespeare or someone comparable) monologue, and a headshot and resume (if you have them).

You can also email if you are interested in crewing either show.  Taming of the Shrew in particular will have what we are calling a "Lazzi Crew" who will be doing the scene shifts as well as pre-show and intermission "lazzi" (comic bits).

And to anyone else - actor, technician, sponsor, audience member and more - if you just want to come to celebrate what we think is going to be an incredible summer, just come on by The Warheouse March 24th between 5:00 and 9:00.  For party-goers, RSVP is not required, but it will be helpful and much appreciated while we're food shopping.

The following roles are available:

Shrew

Bianca

Baptista

Hortensio

Lucentio

Pedant

Petruchio
