Born to a Korean-American mother and an Irish father in the cyber-infused neighborhoods of Chicago sprawl, Kieran "Stitch" Han has always been a unique blend of charisma and medical expertise. Born to a family of underground cybernetics surgeons who struggled against the growing corporatocracy, he was nurtured on the principles of rebellion, human preservation, and a hint of well-placed charm. When a Corp-raid eradicated his family's illicit operation, a teenage Han barely escaped with his life and the vast surgical knowledge implanted into his cortex. Struggling for survival, he utilized his learned medical skills to stabilize the wounded in back-alley clinics and shadowy nightclubs, while his silver-tongued flair attracted the favor of the powerful. In 2090, a chance encounter introduced him to the ragtag crew of CARMA, a maverick ambulance/CASEVAC company renowned for its daring rescue missions amidst the gritty underbelly of the metropolis.
Recognizing his skill set, they took him in, and Stitch quickly found a new family and purpose. As the team's irreplaceable medic, he has patched up bullet holes, replaced limbs, and brought teammates back from the brink, all while under heavy fire or evading the watchful eye of CorpSec drones. But, his role doesn't end on the battlefield. Outside of life-saving surgeries, his charisma and diplomatic knack have proven essential for CARMA, with Stitch navigating the treacherous social waters of the Sprawl, acquiring intel, forging alliances, and negotiating with rival gangs or corporations. A healer by nature and a talker by necessity, Stitch has etched himself into the heart of CARMA, standing as a beacon of humanity amid the dystopian wasteland.
Liam’s parents had received a grant to have his DNA altered and improved, so when he was born, he would be gifted. The Shaiwase Corporation paid for his enhancement, and then continued funding for a quality education at a private school.
When Liam was 18, he received caliber Gen 2.0 cyberware implants, to perfect his Adrenals, allowing him to gain a short boost in Athletic competitions, giving him an edge in sports.
After he recovered, Liam entered a college of technologies, studying Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, as well as private training in Stealth, Infiltration, Fighting, and Shooting. On his own, Liam picked up the ability to use whatever equipment was handy to
make homemade weapons and explosives. Liam’s tactical analysis and improvisation skills were off the charts.
At 24, the corporation felt that Liam was ready to become an Agent. He was assigned to an experienced officer named Michael Doyle, and 3 other novice recruits. Their first mission was to slip into a competitor’s factory: JR International, eliminate a well-known scientist, plant evidence pointing to a different corporation, and get out. Something went wrong, and an explosion occurred, utterly destroying the building. Liam escaped with his life by pure chance: the blast threw him out a window and into a nearby water cooling reservoir. Doyle survived his injuries, but more than half of his body is now Chrome, and has a shorter temper. The rest of the team was wiped out, and a massacre of civilians totaled over 100.
At the inquiry, there was not enough evidence to point at Michael or Liam as the fault – however, the blemish forced payouts and a cover-up was approved. Liam unofficially took the blame, and was left as a desk jockey. After 3 months, he was unemployed with a small severance package. His parents disowned him, bringing shame to the family name.
For the last 2 years, Liam has been a specialist “Gear Head” for a medical team. He owns a repair shop, where he keeps the equipment running. He also has skills in hacking systems that have been locked out due to damage, manual lockpicking, and provides cover to his teammates with precision shots against the gangers.
It’s a living.
Last month, Liam followed a thread, leading him to the owners of the shell company JR International [whose name was on the factory] is actually Saeder-Krupp, a German based mega-corp. The file he got his hands on shows that Michael’s team was just a minor nuisance that were used as pawns in between the giants – and most importantly, someone betrayed Michael’s team.
Bartleby Greygor grew up in an upper blue-collar family located in the Naperora Sprawl. From an early age his mother had instilled a piece of wisdom that stuck with him. “When things go bad, and it looks like there is little hope, always look for the helpers.” Witnessing life in the sprawl of Chicago gave Bart plenty of opportunities to look for the helpers, he decided they were few and far between and he wanted to do something about that. He decided to become a helper. Taking odd jobs and fixing wrongs, he built up a reputation as a street ronin who, if you ever needed help, was someone to go to. Deciding he needed more stable income he took what he knew and branched out into Medical Retrieval Services.
Bart did have a leg up, so to speak, making this choice in life easier for him. His parents wanting the life of their son to be better than theirs did every thing they could to help out.
They paid for the genetic enhancements during gestation. He is a Human 2.0 his real genetics took very well to the enhancements and a such he is tall 6’4” and muscular 245 lbs.
His clothing stays true to his blue-collar roots Work boots, tactical pants, dark t-shirt and leather biker jacket is what you will typically find him wearing, its his version of trying to blend into a crowd, which is difficult for someone his size.
He tries to be a good guy and stay nice, but can be cranky at times, at least towards people who deserve it. He believes there is no problem he generally can’t solve with a little time.
