Communication Challenges and Learning Diversity in Secondary School Foreign Language Education

The objective of the O1 survey report (see link above) was to elaborate a focused account of the pedagogical potential of telecollaboratlon and gamification. To do this an online survey to assess teachers' experience with the pedagogical use of telecollaboration and gamification and their perceived training needs was designed. Questions included teachers’ experience with specific tools such as video communication software and virtual worlds. Teachers were also asked about the relevance for them of diversity and learning challenges, intercultural awareness and competence and communicative competence. The online survey was answered by 179 teachers, 98% of whom were from EU countries. The report offers abundant information on the issues mentioned above as well as details on the number of computers per class, quality of the internet connection, presence of technicians and other matters related to the installations in the teachers’ working environment.
