This is a method of representing and 3 dimensional drawing in 2 dimensions. The draw consists of a number different faces showing the object. The number of different view change depending on the complexity of the drawing, you need to include as many different views as required to show all the parts of the object.
For the objects above you need only three views to show the entire object (ie: Front View, Top View and Side View).
