JP Artists

This is a collection of some of my favorite Japanese artists.

Many of them are just hard-working amateurs. Some of them are successful and published masters of their craft, doing everything from phone cards for prostitutes to manga to movies and animation. Some of them are grateful for any attention at all; others are arrogant towards those who can't speak or read Japanese; still others are changing their location, on the virtual run from the law.

I like all of these sites for their passion. Some transgress the boundaries of good taste and push the threshold of insanity, but all of them are passionate works by inspired artists, striving to create the worlds in which they would like to live. I may not agree with them and I may not want to live in their worlds, but part of me is enthralled by how far they can push the envelope.
