This is a very old website, with very old links, converted from Google Classic to the new Google Sites. Little of it will be updated.

It's mid-June and I haven't heard back from that MN Artists' competition. I'm guessing my piece wasn't accepted and they have no protocol to notify the losers "too bad." That's common, that's how most places handle it. Writing isn't a rewarding or comforting profession until you succeed really big, but it's what we've got to do.
It's 8:32 AM as I write this. My hours at work have been scaled back, so I don't show up until 10:00 AM and I leave at 3:00 PM (and take one hour off for lunch). We can handle this, budget-wise, we're not going to go into a tailspin. But more money is always better, and we're about to leave on that cruise around the UK and Norway in a week, so it would have been better to have some cash for that. But what can you do? These things happen, and everyone assures me work will pick up around August and my hours will go back up.
I do have to find some friends to house-sit the cats, though.
