Kalamazoo River
Introduction
The Kalamazoo River provides the greatest amount of paddling opportunities in the Kalamazoo River Watershed. The river is about 130 miles long from the confluence of the North and South Branches of the Kalamazoo River at the town of Albion, MI. The lower section from below Lake Allegan to Hacklander Landing is designated as a state Natural River and offers some very nice paddling with minimal development. In general, the river offers some very nice recreational paddling once you get away from the cities and towns that border the river. The map below contains about 50 access sites along the river. Also, provided below is a paddling guide with detailed information on each access site and general information on the different parts of the river.
