The Compatibility of Monarchy and Democracy

The July 1966 edition of the Adrian College Contact magazine had an article I wrote discussing the compatibility of monarchy and democracy. The main point was a distinction between two conflicting definitions of "democracy": 1. government by the people, and 2.. government by some people limited by the people. Since government by the people, in any literal sense, is totally impossible, the fundamental nature of government is badly understood.
