Anthem: Come Walk With Me

This piece was written in observance of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, November 22, 1963.

Making no direct reference to JFK or his death, the piece incorporates the music of the Naval Hymn, which I vividly remember was played many times by bands in Washington, D.C. during the parades connected with the mourning and funeral, as well as a new countermelody to the Naval Hymn.

The words convey the passage of time, with its good and bad memories, and reflect the ideas of the original words to the Naval Hymn.

The opening bars and interludes suggest the passage of time as marked by the chimes of Big Ben in London.

The final verse combines the Naval Hymn melody and the countermelody.

As with all my music, this piece and be reproduced and used without any charge.
