Three Reasons Why 90% of Training Programs Fail

Several investigations in the USA showed that most training fails and sponsor companies end up wasting their time and money for one of three reasons.

1. Training is not transferred to the job. This is either because of a lack of interest or reward from the organization for people to change their behavior and apply new learning.

2. Training design and/ delivery is poor and is not seen as useful or relevant.

3. Participants are unwilling, unable or uninspired by the training.

As trainers, we need to design training more thoughtfully and close these gaps or else our training might meet the same fate.
