The Summer Learning Journey has moved:

WELCOME TO THE SUMMER LEARNING JOURNEY 2019-2020

We warmly invite you to use these resources at any stage, but particularly while Aotearoa New Zealand is on lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Please use the programme resources from 2019-2020, or find the archived resources from previous years through the links below.

With parental or teacher input, these resources can accommodate a range of ages and reading/writing levels. If you already have a school blog, you can blog your responses that way, or there are downloadable versions of the activities which you can work through on paper.

We would like to publicly acknowledge the founder of the Summer Learning Journey, Dr. Rachel Williamson-Dean, who has created the majority of these activities over the past few years.

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey programme for 2019 - 2020. We're so glad that you have decided to join us. Our theme this year is called "Changemakers." Together, we will travel to far off countries, and also very close to home, to learn about some incredible people who have changed the world.

The journey will take approximately four weeks. Each day you can choose from three different activities: two main and one bonus activity. You can choose to complete one, two or all three activities by posting your answer on your school-sponsored blog. Each activity that you complete is worth points and, at the end of the summer, the most active bloggers from each school will earn some great prizes!

The Summer Learning Journey has now been handed over to the Manaiakalani Education Trust.

For any enquiries about the programme, please contact Dr. Rebeccca Jesson from the University of Auckland: r.jesson@auckland.ac.nz

or Jenny Oxley from the Manaiakalani Education Trust: jenny.oxley@manaiakalani.org

Are you ready to discover people who have changed the world? LET'S GO!
